If we talk about fairs and festivals, the Trementinaires is without a doubt the MOST IMPORTANT that we have in the Vall de Tuixent and the Vansa.
Dated in 2000, as a tribute, in full measure, to these brave, enterprising and strong women of our Valley, the Trementinaires. With great knowledge of our environment and the popular wisdom of the plants that made them well known and prized throughout Catalonia. The great healers of other times.
In this party we have a very full schedule of activities: courses, botanical routes, guided visits to museums, book presentations, talks, public recognition of an important person (honorary Trementinaire award), bonfire, traditional dance, popular songs of the Pyrenees, and the artisans’ fair. A weekend full of knowledge, good atmosphere and emotions!
Structure of the party
Saturday morning you have courses, museum visits, guided tours, talks, tastings, book presentations. You won’t have time to get bored.
On Saturday night you can’t miss the bonfire, around 10:30 p.m., where the children from the Tuixent school bring bundles of scents to burn in the bonfire, and where each visitor can bring their own bundle to burn and ask for your wish. Accompanied by the rest of the participants, the music and the dancing, it is not strange to find more than one person excited and with their hairs on end.
Then in Plaça Cadí, folk music and traditional dance will not leave you still in your chair. Come dance with us and be guided by the other participants and the musical group. You’ll sweat and have fun in equal measure.
Leave your strength for Sunday when the Fair starts at 10 am, with local artisans and guests from other places to shop for natural products, artisans from many different areas: food, drinks, natural cosmetics, crafts, art, plants… you’ll want it all, you’ve been warned!
