Walking routes

Walk to discover our surroundings, receive the energy of the mountain and breathe fresh air.

Cal Gabriel is located in an idyllic location, surrounded by nature within the natural park of Cadí-Moixeró, an area that invites you to walk around it.
From the town of Tuixent you can choose different routes to foot, among them the one known as the Camí dels Bons Homes, a route used by the Cathars or good men during the 13th and 14th centuries. It is a Great Route trail (GR 107) that can be traveled on foot, on horseback and by mountain bike (most sections) and that connects the sanctuary of Queralt (Berga) with the castle of Montsegur in Arieja-France. The section that crosses Tuixent leaves from the Monastery of “El Miracle” in Solsona and reaches the town of Gósol from where it continues to France.
From Tuixent you can also do a variant, the GR7 that goes through the Solsonès from the Miracle sanctuary to Gósol, passing through our town.
Don’t panic, you don’t have to do the whole route. From Tuixent you can follow the indicated paths, visit the nearest towns and come back whenever you want.
You also have the possibility to do the route of medicinal plants, a way to get to know the healing tradition of the town of Tuixent better. With a route of 2.5 kms and a difference in level of 125 m you will be able to see first hand the great variety of medicinal plants that are part of the flora of Tuixent, more than 100, and 60 of them with their relevant name signs and remedial property. Once you reach the end you will find the recreational area and you can visit the arboretum.
Walking in the mountains, a good way to do sport, relax and be in contact with nature. Take advantage of this environment that only Cadí can offer us.
